Review Employee Records

Ensure names, addresses, Social Security Numbers, and tax information are up-to-date.
Catching errors NOW can save you hours (or days!) of corrections in January.
Double-Check Compliance Changes
Review any tax or wage changes from the past year.
Did your state introduce a new paid leave tax?
Are there updates to federal thresholds for FICA or FUTA?
Plan for Year-End Bonuses
Whether it’s cash, gift cards, or other incentives, ensure bonuses are processed correctly for tax withholding.
Remember, fringe benefits often require special attention.
Reconcile Quarterly Reports
Compare year-to-date totals with quarterly filings to ensure alignment.
A reconciliation audit now can prevent discrepancies that delay filings later.
Communicate with Employees
